I’ll never forget the first handshake with her. It was more than just a greeting—it felt like time stood still. The warmth of her hand, the way the world around us seemed to pause for that brief moment. I even joked that I wouldn’t wash my hand again, as if that touch was something to hold onto forever.
But, as time passed, things changed. Our connection deepened, and the moments we shared became more meaningful than words could express. Still, life has its own way of shifting things, and before I knew it, we were standing there, hands meeting one last time.
That last handshake was different. It wasn’t filled with the same promise or energy. It was quiet, almost like a final chapter. The world didn’t stop this time. It moved on, as it always does, no matter how much we want it to pause.
Looking back, it wasn’t the handshakes themselves that mattered. It was the unspoken connection, the moments between them, that made everything unforgettable. Sometimes, life gives us the simplest gestures that carry the heaviest weight.
